Erykah N. Benson

I'm a sociologist studying the changing dynamics of inequality, racism, and technology at the University of Michigan.

I am grateful to have my research supported by the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship, the U-M Population Studies Center, and the U-M National Center for Institutional Diversity.

As a research fellow at the Center for Racial Justice, I study attitudes toward racial inequity, reparations, economic well-being and entrepreneurship using survey data from the Detroit Metro Area Communities Study

My work has appeared on multiple news platforms, including The Detroit Free Press, Bridge Detroit, and CBS News Detroit.
